Here is some information from the charity:

It’s nearly the end of semester! To celebrate, you can choose to donate any library fines paid on Friday 27th November to Book Aid International. Why? Because books change lives. Book Aid International sends around a million brand new books each year to schools, universities, youth clubs, orphanages and refugee camps in twelve different countries in sub-Saharan Africa. It also helps to set up community and mobile libraries. It provides training for librarians and teachers, as well as helping in the distribution of medical, agricultural and legal information to local practitioners and the wider community. In so doing, it transforms lives by offering people of all ages the chance to read, write and learn, and so to lay the foundations for a stronger future. If books matter to you, please take this opportunity to help them make a difference to others, by donating your library fines to Book Aid International on 27th November. Thank you!
