Sharon with January orientation group - small
We’re delighted to report that 100% of the students who attended Library Orientation sessions on Thursday 26th January reported that they felt the Library was welcoming, and that the sessions were useful!
We welcomed over 130 students to our 20 minute sessions, which involved a brief 5 minute presentation, followed by a 15 minute tour of the library.
For the first time, we asked all those who attended to complete a short evaluation form, providing us with valuable feedback on what we got right, and what we need to improve.

Our top priority is to ensure that all new students are made to feel welcome, we want everyone to know that the library and it’s staff are there to support students in their studies.  We also appreciate that there’s a lot to take in during the first few weeks, so making sure our sessions are useful is also important!
The evaluation form also asked what part of the session was most useful, and the tours came out ahead of the presentation, whilst a few felt that both were important.   Other comments and suggestions were given, and we’re looking forward to finding ways we can use these to improve our offerings in September 2015!
Thanks to all the students who came along.
