You might have noticed some extra space has been cleared on Level 2, just past the entry gates!

Space cleared after Reference Collection moved to Level 4

You may also have spotted these posters explaining the move of this collection a few weeks ago. The Reference Collection is still intact and available, it just has a new home on Level 4 opposite Art History.
In the next few weeks we will be adding new tables to create 24 new study spaces. We will also be installing a new “SafePod” which looks a little like a photo booth but is a secure, lockable area that allows researchers across the UK to access controlled data. We are the first University to host one of these systems which is funded by ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council).
The pod will appear on Level 2 next week (week beginning 16th March) and will be positioned against the wall on the non-concourse side of the cleared area. Construction will take place during most of Tuesday and may continue into Wednesday. We apologise for any disruption, we hope noise will be minimal.

The new furniture for study spaces will arrive in the next few weeks, so watch this space!
