Books in the Loeb Classical Library
We now have access to the online version of the Loeb Classical Library
What is it? The Loeb series has long been one of the fundamental resources for studying the Ancient Greek and Roman worlds. Comprising 520+ volumes of Classical Greek and Latin texts with parallel English translations it makes virtually every important work in Classical literature available in accessible format.
What’s new in the online version? While the series has been around in print since 1911, the online version adds up-to-date English translations and important new functionality:

  • Search across the full corpus in English, Latin, and Greek
  • Browse by author, language, period, form, genre, and subject
  • Bookmark, organize, and annotate content in personal digital workspaces
  • Share notes and reading lists with classmates, students, and colleagues
  • Toggle between single- and dual-language reading modes

For more info, you can watch this video.
Who will want to use it? The collection will be invaluable to anyone studying literature, history, philosophy, religion, International Relations, or history of science who needs to work with classical texts.
The range of texts is vast, taking in epic and lyric poetry; tragedy and comedy; history, travel, philosophy, politics; Church Fathers and the great medical writers and mathematicians.
Where do I find it? Via SAULCAT. You can also find links to the database from the Library guides for Classics and Divinity.
