Come and hear Poems Aloud!
Enjoy watching and hearing University students perform memorized poems from StAnza 2017 headline poets, part of the StAnza International Poetry Festival. The event will be held in the Byre Auditorium for the first time. A panel of judges will rate best delivery and performance, and select a winner.
The judges are:
- Marjorie Lotfi Gill, poet
- Sibusiso Conelius Simelane, poet and spoken artist
- Georgi Gill who worked previously at the Scottish Poetry Library
The Poetry Out Loud project in the US has made an impact on YouTube and demonstrated the impact of a well-delivered poem. Listen to our own students giving their all to be chosen as the best performer and winner of the £100 cash prize. John MacColl will present the prize to the winner on the day.
The event is free and open to the public.
