The Software Sustainability Institute, a “national facility for cultivating and improving research software to support world-class research” asked Research Computing to contribute a blog post for their series Day in the software life. The article covers the advantages of using Solr and how it differs from relational database systems, using examples drawn from our experience of working on the Arab Cultural Semantics in Transition (ARSEM) project in Modern Languages.
