The results are in and 80% of those surveyed would rather have more study seats on level 4 of the Main Library than have this area used to provide immediate access to paper journals.
1,680 people filled in the survey with 530 leaving comments. We thank you all for taking the time to give your view.
The winner of the £50 Amazon voucher has been contacted.
The results of this survey will inform how we develop space in the Main Library up to and including the work planned for 2020 as part of the Eden Campus redevelopment. We will act on your feedback and you will begin to see additional spaces added to level 4 from Autumn next year. Because it is important that access to any journals we move is maintained, careful consideration and consultation with academic staff must be taken. In order to help in the meantime, we have opened up an area on level 1 of the Main Library, which was previously used only by staff, where you can now work and study together and where you’ll find tables, soft seating and white boards. This Collaboration Space is available now and is open to all from 8am until 10pm Monday to Sunday.

We have also opened up female, male and disabled toilets on this basement level of the Main Library. If you have lift access, select level 1, or head downstairs to find these new facilities.
We continue to work to provide excellent study and work spaces for you.
