Journal Citation Reports (Science and Social Sciences) – 2012 data added
Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is a unique research tool which provides a systematic, objective means to critically evaluate and compare the world's leading journals, by tabulating and aggregating citation and article count data, back to 2005.
This information is of value to the national REF (Research Excellence Framework) exercise for assessing the quality of research in UK H.E. institutions.
By compiling cited references from articles, JCR helps to:
- measure research influence and impact at journal and category levels
- identify the most appropriate, influential journals in which to publish
- better understand a journal’s impact over time
JCR covers 11,000+ scholarly and technical journals from over 3,300 international publishers, in science, technology, and social sciences.
The bibliometric data includes details of Impact Factors (Median, Aggregate and Five-Year), Eigenfactor metrics, Immediacy Index, Total Cites, Total Articles, Cited Half-Life, Journals and Articles Category ranking tables. (JCR Quick Reference Card; Help screens).
