Day 61. Flying fish and salt horse: a seafaring tale
28th September 1859:
Wednesday. 56 days out in Lat 6.0.S. helping Sails to pick out stitches. Poupard and Jack hid their Coffee from the Boatswain but he found it, and drank some of it, and hid the rest. Poupard found his again and vowed he be even with him for it. Jack caught him drinking his and snatched the pot from him. Fried some pork for tea, the sun looked splendid when it set.
Eight weeks at sea and petty squabbles about coffee seem to be taking over the ship, Definitely time they got some shore leave.
