Thursday 11 December 2014
Welcome to our trial of the Pravda Digital Archive (1912-2013), which runs until 31 January 2015.

Pravda ('Truth') was the official voice of Soviet communism and the Central Committee of the Communist Party between 1918-1991. It  began as an underground daily workers’ newspaper, and soon became the main newspaper of the revolutionary wing of the Russian socialist movement.

It remains the official organ of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, an important political faction in contemporary Russian politics.

The Archive offers over 220,000 searchable full-page images which use the original layout and design, including photographs and graphics.

The 2014 digital year will be added to the Archive in March 2015.
