Day 245. Flying fish and salt horse: a seafaring tale

Elizabeth Andrews
Wednesday 1 April 2015

1st April 1860:

Sunday April 1st. Sailed the Nordskov Norwr and Minnehaha of Liverpool. Took the Capt and Capt of Confidence aboard her to Breakfast. R. Clitherow and Kilgove from the Kensington aboard to tea.

No sign of any April Fool’s jokes today, obviously not a sailor’s tradition. Instead a pleasant day of tea and gossip with friends.
