Day 254. Flying fish and salt horse: a seafaring tale
10th April 1860:
Tuesday 10th. Aboard the Falcon when she arrived belonging to Aberdeen. We got about 40 tons of Guano.
Guano hasn’t been mentioned in weeks - perhaps there was a quota system per boat and that’s why Richard and the crew are hanging around not doing very much, waiting for the guano to be ready.
