Friday 13th. The Horse sprained his Fetlock Joint and we were obliged to lend a hand to pull the tubs up. 8 o’clock before we got finished.

This is the first we have heard of there being a horse - had he come all the way from Liverpool or was he borrowed from the guano works? Either way he had obviously been doing most of the heavy work which Richard now had to give a hand with and complains about.
