Day 283. Flying fish and salt horse: a seafaring tale
9th May 1860:
Wednesday 10th. A fine breeze Continues going 6 knots. I am in the Mate’s watch he could not get on with Poupard any longer. 8PM stowed M Royal and Mizn T.G. Sail.
Still a day out in the date (Richard not me). First sign of dissent among the crew and they’ve only been at sea for a day! Richard and Poupard used to be good friends at the start but have fallen out too so maybe Poupard is a difficult character to be stuck on a ship with. Perhaps they will make him walk the plank before they get home.
