Wednesday 17th. Becalmed all day. Unbent the Fore Top Gallant Sail to mend, bent it again at 6 PM. Hands setting up rigging, pumps carefully attended. Boxhauling yards about all night.

A very quiet day on board ship, waiting for the wind to pick up again. The calm before the storm?
