Sunday 28th. 6 to 8 Set T.G. Sails and F.Jib. The Capt and I cutting the pig out for dinner. I salted the 2 hams and ofels, also what we did not want for dinner. About ship at 8 AM wind from the S.E. 12 AM About ship. Lat 41.8. Becalmed. A little breeze at 2 PM. Stronger in the evening. Pumps carefully attended. Going 6 knots at 8 PM.
Again Richard is involved with preparing meat from the pig, useful practice for his future career. They are coming into an area of calms, after the recent stormy weather.
