Day 317. Flying fish and salt horse: a seafaring tale

Tuesday 12. 4 AM Tacked ship. 6 AM Shook the double reef out of the Topsails, had a shower of snow. 8 AM set M.T.G. Sail and Flying Jib. Pumps carefully attended. Tom, the man that is ill has a hammock slung in the aft deck. The sick man is no better, but has been given all available comforts with a hammock. it looks like no one else has come down with anything yet.
