Main Library Network shutdown 11 and 12 July
There will be no wifi or wired internet access available in the building on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 July. This is due to essential maintenance being carried out on the network.
The Main Library building building itself will remain open, though at slightly reduced hours from 8am to 8:30pm. All other Library sites will be open as usual, with network access unaffected.
Access to the physical collections will be unchanged, and members of the Library team will be on site to help with any queries. We will be able to manually check items out to you, and we can still accept returns on these dates. The Scan and Deliver, and Inter-Library Loan services will continue as normal.
All digital collections will still be available for remote access, but the Main Library PCs will not be connected to the internet during this period and, again, there will be no wifi connection anywhere in the building.
During the outage, you’ll be able to get in-person IT help at Walter Bower House, or you can get in touch via the IT support webpage.
Franki’s café, situated in the Main Library, will be closed over these two days.
We’ll update further if there are any additional changes. Apologies for any inconvenience.
